Br-ANA Firmware Updates

The ﬁrmware in a Br-ANA can easily be upgraded at any time. To update the ﬁrm-

ware:

1) Download the BRANA400.FRM ﬁle from the Gilderﬂuke & Co.

website

2) Unzip the ﬁle (if needed)

3) Place the BRANA400.FRM ﬁle onto a formatted Sd/SdHC ﬂash card

4) Power down (or disable) whatever the Br-ANA is controlling. You donʼt want

your show to do anything unexpected during the update

5) While the Br-ANA is running, remove the Sd/SdHC ﬂash card it is using

6) Replace it with the Sd/SdHC ﬂash card that holds the BRANA400.FRM ﬁle

7) The Br-ANA will update itself

8) Once the ﬁrmware update has completed, remove the Sd/SdHC ﬂash card

that has the BRANA400.FRM ﬁle on it

9) Insert the the Sd/SdHC ﬂash card with your shows on it

10)Power back up (or enable) whatever the Br-ANA is controlling.

During ﬁrmware updates, the Read LED and Busy LED ﬂash back and forth.

The ﬁrst stage is comparing the BRANA400.FRM ﬁle on the Sd card. It then ﬂashes a

little slower as it reads the BRANA400.FRM ﬁle in from the Sd card. It then ﬂashes back

and forth much more quickly as it reprograms the microcontroller in the Br-ANA.

Under no circumstances remove power from the Br-ANA while ﬁrmware is being up-

dated. A partial ﬁrmware update may ʻbrickʼ the Br-ANA, and then it will need to be re-

turned to the factory for reprogramming.
